FACTSHEET - SYNTROPIC SUPER ACCUMULATORS
In Syntropic Agroforestry, plants referred to as Accumulators are used to accelerate the early stages of succession from bare ground or paddock back to forest. They need to be quick growing and produce bulk biomass / organic life and can be pruned heavily to generate organic matter to feed and protect the soil. Here’s a list of some of our favourite native species.
FACTSHEET - BUNYA DIEBACK
Bunya dieback is a serious threat to our iconic Bunya trees, caused by pathogens such as Phytophthora cinnamomi that attack the roots and disrupt the tree’s ability to absorb water and nutrients. Once a tree is infected, it can decline rapidly—showing signs such as thinning canopy, yellowing leaves, and eventual tree death. With the Bunya holding deep cultural, ecological, and historical significance, it’s vital we work together to raise awareness, reduce the spread of pathogens, and protect these majestic trees for future generations.
